Appenzeller House

Poster Design

2019

Appenzeller House is 1 of 12 residential  houses in Yonsei University responsible for hosting events that aim to spark up the dorm life. As a residential assistant, I was in charge of all things design related - mainly posters.
From crazy arcades to a banquet,
Appenzeller House hosts various events for students throughout the semester. Participation ranges from 50 - 150 students.
Posters are the primary means
to promote an event in Appenzeller House - they are either printed and put up around the dorms, or posted via an announcement room on kakaotalk (a chatting service used in Korea).
challenge
How to minimize amount of text & communicate visually?
To grab immediate attention,
posters used vibrant colors along with clear typography. Different styles were also experimented, to fit the theme and feel of a particular event.
Profile cards for residential assistants
were created and put up, to introduce them to students.

To give a different feel for each residential assistant, a color that matched a given picture were chosen. The background curve was designed so that they would line up when placed side by side.
